Asia Argento is an Italian actress and filmmaker who came from a large family of both. She's pursued the two professions her own. As a young girl she made her acting debut in Sergio Cittis Sogni e bisogni. In 1988, she played the lead part in Cristina Comencini's debut motion picture Zoo (1988) and as well as being part of Michele Soavi's ensemble in The Church (1989). In 1989, she was Nanni Moretti's (also directed by Michele Soavi) daughter, also directed by Michele Soavi in Red Wood Pigeon. Close Friends (written and directed by Michele Placido) was when Asia's acting career took off. She played roles that ranged from being very young before becoming more mature. It was awarded a trophy during the Williamsburg International Film Festival in Brooklyn. Anna Lou, the first daughter of the couple, was born in January 2001. She was a part of Jean-Marc Barr's performance as Jean-Marc Barr in The Red Siren, directed by Olivier Megaton. In 2003 she appeared with Vin Diesel and Rob Cohen's action thriller. Asia is the author of several short stories, which were published in a variety of magazines.
